Hundreds of people looking for their next training or employment opportunity are expected to attend the event which will run from 9am to 3pm.

Councillor Mark Statham, portfolio holder for children’s, families and lifelong learning at Walsall Council, said:  “The countdown is officially on for the brilliant Walsall Works Expo. Running for its 11th year, the event connects hundreds of people with local employment and training options.”

More than 40 prospective employers and 30 training and skills providers are set to attend the event including big businesses Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV), Bowmer and Kirkland and Encyclis, as well as Bloxwich Launchpad, Nova Training, Performance Through People, the Salvation Army, Transport for West Midlands, Walsh Memorials and West Midlands Police.

The event is being hosted by Walsall Works, an award-winning initiative funded by Walsall Council which supports the regional West Midlands Works Plan set out by West Midlands Combined Authority. The initiative aims to increase employment to 75 per cent of the working-age population in the region, addressing unemployment caused by long-term sickness and inactivity.
