Security guard assaulted and items taken in Walsall Tesco robbery

Police are asking for help in locating two people they want to talk to after a guard was assaulted in Walsall Tesco.

West Midlands Police have appealed for help in identifying two people they want to talk to after a security guard was assaulted and goods were taken from a Tesco in Walsall.

On January 14, two people were reported to have entered the Tesco store on Wisemore, Walsall, where they began to fill their bags with alcohol before attempting to leave.

A security guard managed to seize one of the bags; however, the two people were able to leave the store with the stolen goods after assaulting the guard. 

A CCTV image of both people was released by West Midlands Police, with anyone with information asked to contact the force directly.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "On 14 January, a pair of people entered the Tesco store in Wisemore Walsall, where they filled their bags with alcohol and attempted to leave.

"A security guard managed to seize one of the bags, but the two people were able to leave the store with some of the stolen goods after assaulting the guard.

"We are looking to speak to anyone who recognises these people, or who was in the shop at the time of the robbery."
