Four charged with drugs and weapons following Walsall county lines arrests

Four people have been charged with drug offences in Walsall following a county lines operation in the borough.

West Midlands Police have arrested and charged four people after warrants were carried out by the force's County Lines Task Force at addresses in Walsall

The warrants took place on Thursday morning, and saw an amount of drugs being seized, including crack cocaine and cannabis, as well as 10 knives, air weapons, a crossbow and thousands of pounds in cash.

Mitchell Bowden, aged 30, from Walsall, Arron Bowden, aged 38, from Walsall, Nathan Thomplins, aged 21, from Bloxwich, and David Clinton-Smith, aged 24, from Bloxwich, are all due to appear in court charged with a range of crimes relating to drugs and weapons possession.

The charges come as West Midlands Police continue to run Operation Target, which sees them take a 'defiant stand' against a range of serious and organised crime offences, and use local intelligence to seize goods and carry out warrants.

A force spokesperson said: "Officers use local intelligence, seize goods, carry out warrants and target offenders as part of Op Target’s ongoing crackdown.

"Anyone with information about serious and organised crime in their neighbourhood should report it to us via 101 or Live Chat. In case of an emergency, dial 999. Alternatively, reports can be made anonymously via the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111."

Mitchell Bowden was chargedwith offences including being concerned in the supply of cocaine, crack cocaine and cannabis, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and crack cocaine, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place. He is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.

Aarron Bowden was charged with supplying cocaine, crack cocaine and cannabis, possession with intent to supply cocaine, crack cocaine and cannabis and possessing a bladed article. He is also due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.

Nathan Thomplins was charged with possession with intent to supply both crackcocaine and cocaine. He is also due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.

David Clinton-Smith was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine and crack cocaine. He is also due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.
