The woman, in her 50s, was walking her dog when she was pushed to the ground and pinned to the floor.

The group, who were all wearing balaclavas, told the woman that they wouldn't hurt her dog and instead just wanted her car keys.

They pinned her down and pried the keys from her hands forcefully before running off and taking the vehicle.

Staffordshire Police said that officers responded to the scene quickly to check on the victim and to investigate the robbery.

The car was later spotted in Walsall on the same day.

No registration plates were on the vehicle, prompting officers from West Midlands Police to pursue.

Worrallo crashed the car into a bush on Pelsall Road in his attempts to escape; however, when he got out of the vehicle, he was caught by officers and subsequently arrested.

After being charged, Worrallo admitted robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, possessing a controlled drug of class B – cannabis and using a motor vehicle on a road without third-party insurance.

He was sentenced to serve three years and seven months at Staffordshire Crown Court today.

Detective Constable Reece Hingley, from CID, said: “I’m pleased that we’ve been able to build all of the evidence needed to secure the second conviction in this investigation.

“This was a particularly distressing incident for the victim, and I can assure local communities in Cannock that we will seek the toughest possible punishment in court for those who think they can get away with these types of crimes.”
