Wolverhampton Christmas Day murder: Two men released with no further action as police arrest woman

A woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Wolverhampton man on Christmas Day.

However, West Midlands Police revealed two men arrested on suspicion of murder hours after a 30-year-old man died from stab wounds have been released.

The victim, believed to be father Trey Johnson, was stabbed in Burcot Avenue just after 3.30am. 

Despite the best efforts of paramedics he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said:  "Two men, aged 35 and 58, were arrested on suspicion of murder the same morning. They have since been released with no further action being taken.

"We've since arrested a 42-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender and she remains in custody for questioning."
