Black Country residents enjoying their Christmas presents have been urged by Dudley Police to register them to thwart thieves.
Dudley Police posted on social media: "Enjoying your new Christmas gifts? Keep them safe! Register them on @ImmobiliseCrime - it’s FREE, quick and helps police identify the owner of recovered property."
Immobilise is the world's largest free online registration service and records ownership details of valued possessions acting as a safety net for any lost or stolen items. It helps to reduce crime and successfully reunites property with its rightful owners.
All registered items and ownership information are accessible to the police through the National Property Database (NMPR) and means there is a significantly higher chance of item recovery.
