Davies is due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (December 24).

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We want to protect our communities from such a crime, so remember distraction burglars will pretend to be someone they’re not to gain entry to your home.

"They may ask for a drink of water, claiming to be thirsty or feel unwell, claim they need to use your phone for an emergency, or say they’re working for the council or a utility company.

"Don’t be afraid to ask questions about anyone at your door – genuine callers won’t mind.

"Always remember ‘if in doubt, keep them out’."
