Tributes paid to former Wolverhampton 'Megastore' owner Mike Lloyd
Tributes continue to be paid to the owner of an iconic Wolverhampton record store and former chairman of Walsall FC.
Mike Lloyd died aged 82, on his way back home from a trip to the USA - no date has yet been set for his funeral.
Mr Lloyd owned Mike Lloyd music which had a branch in Wolverhampton's Queen Square under the Mike Lloyd Megastore banner until it closed in 2106 and one in Stafford and Hanley, with the headquarters in Newcastle Under Lyme.

Born in Walsall, he spent many years on the club's board of directors, including a spell as chairman in the early 2000s but was Staffordshire based and was made an honorary freeman of Stoke-on-Trent earlier this year.

Awarded an OBE for his services to classical music in 2022, he was also made an honorary Doctor of Arts by the University of Staffordshire for his contributions in the field of music, culture, and entertainment.
A statement from Walsall FC on their website read: " We send our sincere condolences to Mike's family and friends during this difficult time."
At the time of his death he ran entertainments and ticketing store Music Mania in Hanley.
A tribute on its website read: "His passion, humour, and unwavering dedication helped shape the very heart of this business."
