Woman dies and man injured after two-vehicle crash near Stourbridge

One woman has died and a man has been taken to hospital following a two-car road crash in Belbroughton yesterday (December 7).

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) was called to the junction of Heath End Road and Farley Lane, Belbroughton near Stourbridge at around 4.43pm. 

Two ambulances, paramedics, a trauma doctor, a MERIT trauma doctor, the WMAS critical care car, and the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car were sent to the scene from Strensham.

On arrival, paramedics began advanced life support for a female passenger who was in critical condition - but sadly, she was confirmed dead at the scene.

A WMAS spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found a woman, a passenger in the first car, in a critical condition receiving care from an off-duty paramedic and immediately began administering advanced life support. Sadly, despite best efforts, nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.

"A man, the driver of the first car, was treated for serious injuries and taken under emergency driving conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

"A second woman, the driver from the second car, was assessed and  discharged at the scene."
