Girl struck by car in Walsall crash as bus services diverted away from area

A girl was treated by paramedics after being struck by a car in Walsall this morning (December 8).

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene near Lindon Road, Brownhills at around 8.47am after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car. 

A girl was found at the scene and was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being transported to hospital. 

A spokesperson for the ambulance said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian at the junction of Clayhanger Road and Lindon Road at 8.47am, one ambulance and a HART paramedic attended the scene. 

"On arrival we discovered one patient, the pedestrian, who was a girl. She was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Walsall Manor Hospital for further assessment."

The incident resulted in travel disruption in the area as public transport provider National Express West Midlands warned that its services, which operate on Lindon Road in Brownhills are being diverted due to an ongoing incident. 

Posts on X advices that the 8 services were "diverting in both directions via: Pelsall Road and Lichfield Road."

The number 10 is also diverted in both directions via Lichfield Road and Chester Road.

"Apologies for any disruption to your journey," the company added. 

Emergency services have been contacted for a comment.
