'Keeping the spirit of the Crooked House alive': Campaigners host pop-up show at venue near site of famous former wonky pub
Campaigners who are fighting to get the Crooked House rebuilt are holding an event today (Sunday) at a pub near the much-missed venue.
Christmas cards, decorations and beer mats featuring the Crooked House will be on sale as campaigners from the Save the Crooked House (Let's Get it Rebuilt) team bid to keep the plight of the pub in the spotlight.
The 'pop-up shop' is in place at the Dudley Arms, Wolverhampton Road from 10am today (Sunday) and will feature branded merchandise including decorative baubles designed by Himley Arts and christmas cards designed by campaigner Stuart Blaze, of Blaze Design Print.
The merchandise was launched last month in a bid to spread the word about the campaign to have the Crooked House rebuilt 'brick by brick' after it was destroyed by fire two years ago, then bulldozed two days later.
Former Dudley MP Marco Longhi who is now campaigning for Reform UK is a longstanding supporter of the campaign and posted a video on the campaign's Facebook page in support of the event.
Paul Turner, who helped start the group and will be present today at the event which runs until 1pm, said: "Our task has become massively more difficult than when we started.

"We are now campaigning for a total rebuild starting with a pile of rubble and there are a lot of things that need to be done including protecting the site from further loss and damage, ensuring the land is secured and saving it from becoming anything but a public house.
"Each year we do this event and sell merchandise, not for profit but to keep the campaign alive and the determination of getting The Crooked House rebuilt, brick by brick.
"The sheer dedication and determination is incredible and inspiring, and with over 37,000 members of the group we hope for a good turnout today so it will be nice to see everyone get in the festive spirit and keep the campaign in the spotlight."
