A former Methodist church dating back more than 140 years on a large site in the Black Country is set to appear in Bond Wolfe’s next auction.
The former Hallam Street Methodist Church in West Bromwich will have a guide price* of £295,000+ in the livestreamed auction on Wednesday 10 December.
Colin Totney, land and development surveyor at Bond Wolfe, explained that the Victorian property sits on a site of around 0.25-acres which may have potential for alternative uses, subject to planning permission.
Mr Totney said: “What we have here are freehold premises which include a former church and various accommodation, including a church hall.
“The property, understood to originally date from circa 1883 with various later additions, is located on the Corner of Hallam Street and Lewisham Street, about a mile north of West Bromwich town centre.
“The estimated gross internal area is about 4,633 sq ft, including the entrance lobby, church with upper floor store and corridors to a vestry, toilets, two kitchens, two meeting rooms and a church hall, plus a basement boiler room and small external store.
“The area surrounding the property is mainly residential, with the Sandwell Health campus immediately opposite on Lewisham Street.”

The location is around 11 miles from Birmingham, 10 miles from Wolverhampton and five miles from Walsall, with Junction 1 of the M5 motorway approximately two miles away.
Mr Totney added that offers in excess of the guide price may be considered ahead of the auction, with viewings were available at:
