Storm Claudia: Road crews tackle more than 200 incidents across Staffordshire
Highways crews handled more than 200 callouts including to remove fallen trees in the aftermath of Storm Claudia.
Staffordshire County Council said its teams dealt with more than twice the usual number of incidents which would be reported during stormy weather.
From Friday morning to early Sunday the crews received more than 220 notification, of which 131 were classed as emergency reports.
Most of those emergencies involved fallen trees blocking, or partially blocking, roads including in Oulton Road, Oulton near Stone near Stafford and in Sugar Loaf Lane in Iverley near Kinver.

Staffordshire County Council’s deputy chief executive Darryl Eyers, who was the council's weekend duty manager, said: "Our highways crews worked all day Friday, through Friday night and then continued over the weekend tackling multiple problems.
"They did a great job in the worst of the weather to keep Staffordshire moving and I’d like to thank them for their sustained effort.”
"The main issues were fallen trees and some roads flooded by waterways bursting their banks, or rainfall running off fields.

"The worst of the storm damage was resolved by Saturday afternoon, but we continued into Sunday working with partners to monitor rising river levels and to check on vulnerable residents who might be at risk, or who had been without power for a long period.”
Residents can report fallen trees and road flooding via Staffordshire highways.
