Road closures for a religious parade in West Bromwich, Oldbury and Smethwick today - here's where and when
West Midlands transport chiefs are warning that road closures and bus diversions will be in place today during a religious parade in West Bromwich, Oldbury and Smethwick
A religious parade is scheduled to take place around Sandwell today to celebrate the birth of sikh founder Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Sandwell Council has announced that there will be rolling road closures to take place along the route of the parade through West Bromwich, Oldbury and Smethwick from 10am to 2pm.
A happy and safe day is wished for those celebrating the Guru Nanak Dev Ji Nagar Kirtan event.
The parade will set off from Guru Har Rai Gurdwara in George Street, West Bromwich, at 10am and finish at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Smethwick, at around 3pm. George Street is planned to re-open by midday.

Smethwick High Street/St Paul’s Road between Trinity Street and Stony Lane will be closed to traffic from 6am to 8pm for the street event being held at the end of the parade.
High Street/St Paul’s Road between Stony Lane and Fenton Street will be closed between midday and 8pm.
Streets immediately off Smethwick High Street will be accessed only from midday to 8pm.
A spokesperson for Sandwell Council said: “Please note that the parade road closures will be on a rolling basis and not all roads will be closed at the same time. Diversions will be signposted.
“If you have any queries on the day, please speak to stewards and security.”
