'The barriers are coming down' - Opening date revealed for new park pavilion and café in West Midlands town

People can take a look around the restored park.

A new park pavilion and café will officially open in Kidderminster next week, it has been revealed.

Brinton Park has been the centre of major restoration project - and now the cafe and new pavilion will open on October 31.

There will be live music from midday, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1pm.

In a post on social media, Wyre Forest District Council said: “The barriers are coming down. The next chapter of Brinton Park is about to begin.

“For a while, visitors have watched the restoration of the ornamental pool, bridge, and surrounding landscape take shape behind temporary fencing.

“Now those final barriers are being removed, opening up some of the project's last pieces and letting you experience the park as a whole again.

“And there's not long to wait until we celebrate it together.

“Take a look around the restored park, and explore a photographic exhibition showing how Brinton Park, Kidderminster has evolved since it first opened.

“From restoring historic features and improving habitats for wildlife, to sharing the park's history through exhibitions, learning and volunteering opportunities, the project is helping more people connect with Brinton Park and enjoy it for years to come.

“Made possible through a partnership between Wyre Forest District Council, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, The National Lottery Community Fund, McPhillips Wellington Limited, and Be Bold Media, this £2.9 million investment has transformed Brinton Park for current and future generations.

“We hope you'll join us to see the results for yourself.”
