Three arrested on suspicion of murder after body of woman found in West Bromwich canal

Two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the woman's body was discovered.

West Midlands Police have said that three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found in the water near Ryders Green Road, West Bromwich

The body was discovered at around 11am yesterday morning, with police initially calling the death 'unexplained'.

Now, two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of the woman as detectives continue their investigation into her death. 

A force spokesperson said: "Door-to-door enquiries are ongoing, along with CCTV being retrieved and reviewed as we work to establish the exact circumstances.

"There will also be a more visible police presence in the area over the coming days as the investigation continues."

The two men, in his 60s and the second in his 20s, and the woman in her 40s, all remain in police custody this afternoon, with a forensic post-mortem due to be carried out to help establish the cause of death. 

Police have now appealed for information on the incident, asking anyone with information to contact them directly.
