Transport for West Midlands have announced that Brierley Hill's The Embankment, near Merry Hill shopping centre, will be made a temporary one-way system starting next week.

The traffic restrictions will be in place from September 22 until October 26, to allow for sheet piling works to take place, with traffic only being able to travel northbound.

The works will take place over a five-week period, with the road being closed from Central Way to the roundabout at the top of Level Street.

Traffic travelling southbound will be diverted from Level Street and Central Way, before joining The Embankment at the mini roundabout near the entrance of Merry Hill.

A Transport for West Midlands spokesperson said: "The Embankment will be closed southbound for sheet piling works."

National Express West Midlands and Transport for West Midlands have warned that the number 8 bus service towards Wollaston Farm will be diverted during the works.

The service will follow Waterfront Way, Level Street, Pedmore Road, The Boulevard, Times Square Avenue and Merry Hill bus station, then resume its normal line of route.

Dudley Council have been approached for more information.
