Woman taken to hospital following two car collision at Bloxwich road junction

A woman was taken to hospital following a two car collision on a busy junction in Bloxwich.

Ambulance and fire crews were called to the junction of Livingstone Road and the A4124 in Bloxwich at around 7.44am following reports of the collision, which left traffic at a standstill while emergency crews worked at the scene.

Four people were involved in total, with two in each car and having freed themselves from their vehicles prior to the arrival of emergency crews.

One woman was assessed for injuries not believed to be serious and then conveyed to hospital, which the others were discharged at the scene.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a two car RTC at the junction of Livingstone Road and the A4124 in Bloxwich, Walsall at 7.44am and sent an ambulance to the scene. 

"On arrival, crews found a woman who they assessed for injuries not believed to be serious, before conveying her to hospital.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Shortly before 7.50am on Friday (September 12), we responded to the junction of Livingstone Road and Wolverhampton Road in Bloxwich, Walsall.

"Two fire engines attended, crewed by firefighters from Bloxwich and Walsall stations.

"Two cars had come into collision on the road. Two people from one car freed themselves from their affected vehicle. One person received precautionary checks from paramedics at the scene.

"Two people freed themselves from the other car, and were uninjured.

"We left this incident shortly before 8.35am, with police colleagues in attendance who assisted with traffic management and vehicle recovery."
