Detectives arrest Birmingham Alum Rock murder suspect 182 miles away in Dorset
Police are questioning a man on suspicion of a murder in Alum Rock, Birmingham, after making an arrest in Dorset
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was found with serious injuries in Birmingham on Friday (September 5).
A 24-year-old man was arrested 182 miles away in Dorset this morning (Sunday). He will be questioned on suspicion of murder by detectives later today, West Midlands Police said.
Hazratgul Ahmadzai was found with serious injuries at an address in Alum Rock Road, on Friday. Today, his family has paid tribute to him.
The family of Mr Ahmadzai said: “He was a very kind man, everyone loved him and will miss him.
“He was well respected and well thought of. He did not deserve this terrible thing to happen to him. We will miss him every-day.”
Detective Inspector Nick Barnes, from our Homicide Team, said: "I want to say thank you to the public for sharing our appeal over the last couple of days.
“Information from the public has helped us locate this individual who will now be questioned on suspicion of murder.
“Our thoughts remain with Mr Ahmadzai’s family and we will continue to support them at this difficult time.”
