Missing boy, 5, found at Himley Hall as police thank the public

Staffordshire Police say they have found a five-year-old child who went missing in Himley Hall this afternoon (Friday 15 August).

The boy was reported missing at 2.40pm after he walked off from the play area on Himley Road.

The Section 60 powers will be in place overnight in parts of Birmingham

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "Within five minutes of getting to the scene, officers managed to track the boy down nearby. 

"He was visibly distressed and we managed to bring him to safety and make sure he was okay, before leaving him in the care of his guardians.

"Officers have now left the area and would like to thank the public who were at the scene for their understanding while the incident was dealt with."
