Lockside Steakhouse, Enville Street, has changed its opening hours for the summer holidays to accommodate their seasonal pint-sized customers.

The kids for a quid offers during holidays were commonplace in recent years but with rising costs and a struggling hospitality sector, they are now harder to find.

TikTok star Matt Lemm, from the Lockside Steakhouse, determined to ensure it becomes tradition and not a passing fad.

He said: "We all know people are struggling and the summer holidays can be expensive for parents so at the Lockside Steakhouse we are still offering kids can eat for a quid.

"During the summer holidays we are open from 12pm throughout the day whereas normally we close between 3pm and 5pm."

He added: "We know when children want to eat there cannot be a ticking clock. However, TikTok star Matt, who has had millions of hits on various platforms over the years had to stress the generous offer has its rules."

He said: "We had one guy phone up saying he had six kids, so would that mean if he bought a meal would he get six for £6. Sadly, if we did that we could not afford the kids for a quid offer."

Last Christmas Matt had to warn wealthy pensioner to stop trying to blag a free festive meal which he delivered to lonely and isolated elderly residents. In recent weeks, he has also relaunched the Lockside Cafe in Walsall.

He added: "Our children's dinners are fantastic. So it is one children's meal for a quid when an adult buys one meal."
