The lurid text messages that uncovered a murder in Wednesfield as a couple are found guilty of murder and manslaughter
The near four week trial of the couple found guilty of killing Ricardo Maragliano in Wednesfield heard in lurid detail what went on during the night he died.
Vasilica Bornescu. aged 34, was a sex worker operating in the Wednesfield and greater Wolverhampton area with Ovidiu Gurita, aged 38 - her life partner, pimp and 'minder' - at the time of the crime in May 2023.
Gurita would travel to bookings with her, or if he wasn't on hand, he would be close by in case she needed help, or to meet her afterwards. The court heard that the couple were devoted to each other and would send texts in Romanian expressing their love.
The jury was also told Bornescu had been involved in the sex trade since she was a teenager, and - giving evidence in Romanian through an interpreter - she said it was a tough profession in which she would always be wary of a client potentially beating her.

On the night of May 30, in May 2023 she had travelled to Thorneycroft Road, to a house where Ricardo Maragliano rented a room 'to get away from his wife'.
