'One of the best season's yet" - Historic Wolverhampton based football competition hands over thousands to Sedgley charity

After one of their most successful seasons, the J W Hunt Cup has handed over a further £15,000 to the Beacon Centre for the Blind and Partially-sighted in Sedgley.

The football competition will celebrate its 100th anniversary next season is now sponsored by the Bilston-based Gough Group.

All proceeds of the competition for amateur and semi professional clubs in the region go to the Beacon Centre and since the J W Hunt Cup was founded in 1926 it has raised over £450,000

Dudley Town beat Cradley Town 3-0 in this year’s final at Molineux and committee are hoping again for a maximum entry in 2025-26 , the centenary of the competition
