Driver led police on high-speed chase through Staffordshire countryside and villages before crashing into tree
A driver who led police on a 100mph chase on the A449 in Staffordshire before crashing and seriously injuring a passenger has been sentenced.
Cameron Martin, aged 22 and from West Bromwich, was spotted by police on the edge of Stafford town centre driving an Audi S3 in the early hours of April 6 last year.
He was driving the car despite only having a provisional licence and police alerted colleagues on patrol in the town centre who tried to stop him.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard he failed to stop and turned the car around at Moss Pitt, on the A449, driving south towards Junction 13 of the M6 at speeds of up to 100mph in a 60 limit zone and 70 in a 30.
