12-year-old suspect arrested after series of grass fires damage West Bromwich playing field
A 12-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of starting grass fires in West Bromwich.
His arrest follows fires being lit on a playing field in Clarkes Lane on three consecutive days last week, causing damage to grassland and benches.
West Midlands Police said no-one was injured as a result of the fires.
However, following its enquiries a 12-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of arson. He has since been bailed with conditions.
Investigating officers are still appealing for anyone with any information about the fires to phone 101 quoting incident number 20/296704/25.
