Two teenagers have been arrested over vandalism at two Wolverhampton schools

Two Wolverhampton schools said they experienced £100,000 of damage from vandalism in classrooms, electronics and doors and windows.

West Midlands Police has confirmed that two teenagers have been arrested in connection with £100,000 worth of damage at schools in Wolverhampton last week.

Officers launched an investigation following reports of break-ins at Green Park School and Stowlawn School, in Bilston, which are thought to have been connected to each other, on Thursday night (July 3).

Vandalism was reported to have taken place just after 10pm, with classrooms, electronic equipment and doors being damaged.

Investigators made enquiries into the incident, which led to the arrest of two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, over the weekend. 

The pair were brought into police custody and questioned on suspicion of burglary. Both suspects have been released on bail pending further enquiries. 

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We launched an investigation following the report of a break-in at Green Park School, at Stowlawn School in Green Park Avenue on Thursday night.

"We have made significant enquiries which led to the arrest of two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, over the weekend. 

"The pair were brought into police custody and questioned on suspicion of burglary. Both suspects have been released on bail pending further enquiries."

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, with West Midlands Police asking for anyone with information to contact the force directly.

The spokesperson added: "Local enquiries are continuing today and our neighbourhood officers are also liaising with the school, and reassurance patrols are being carried out in the area.
