The Race for Life has returned to Dudley as hundreds of smiling runners took part in the poignant 5k run to raise money for the vital work done by Cancer Research UK.

Runners of all ages and genders donned their best pink outfits and laced up their shoes as they took the start line at the picturesque Himley Hall, ready to take part in cancer research.

While it may have been raining, the smiles and laughter didn't stop, with many runners throwing on their parkas or rain macs and cracking on with the run in the show of solidarity in the face of adversity.

As a team, or solo, the runners were never alone as they were spotted helping each other across the finish line, as they helped to fund the life-saving research done by Cancer Research UK.
