In pictures: Sizzling photos of Black Country locals enjoying the hottest day of 2025 - but showers are on the way
Black Country sun-lovers have been spotted enjoying the sunshine as temperatures continue to rise.
When the sun is out, there is nothing better than getting out and about and taking in the rays.
Well, this was the case for many of our Black Country residents as they enjoyed a spot of sunshine amid the rising temperatures.
At Baggeridge Country Park, on Gospel End Road, Dudley, sun lovers were spotted getting their dose of vitamin D as they spent time with family and friends in the sunshine.

Cyclists Mick Walker and Steve Roberts were spotted taking a welcome break in the heat as they perched on a bench for a well-earned sit down.
In the Baggeridge Country Park play area, children were spotted enjoying a spot in the sun with their parents as they built sandcastles in the middle of the beautiful grounds.
Mille McGarrick was spotted putting safety first as she applied suncream to her son, four-year-old Jack, at Baggeridge Country Park's Wildlings Outdoor School.

Lastly, Baggeridge Tea Room owner Julie Daly was spotted cooling herself down with bottles of water as she served customers icy cold drinks to help beat the heat.
While the good weather is expected to continue, an amber heat health alert for the West Midlands has been extended to now be in place until Wednesday, with temperatures expected to rise to highs of 34C.
How hot is it going to get in the West Midlands?
This Evening and Tonight:
It will be a dry, mostly sunny and hot end to the day, according to the Met Office. The dry weather will continue overnight, though cloud will slowly increase from the northwest. It will be a warm, humid and rather uncomfortable night for sleeping. Minimum temperature 17 °C.
Tuesday:
Tuesday looks largely dry with some very warm spells of sunshine developing, especially in the south and east. However, areas of cloud will feed across the region from the west. Maximum temperature 27 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Sunshine and well scattered showers on Wednesday. Perhaps the odd heavy shower. Mostly fine thereafter, though feeling much fresher. Damp and breezy weather arriving from the west on Friday night.
Met Office chief meteorologist, Paul Gundersen, said: "Temperatures were at a low 30C widely across England including places like Manchester, Sheffield, Bristol and Cambridge today.

"The highest temperature is expected to be 34C in London and the southeast of England.
“These high temperatures and humid conditions will be quite uncomfortable for those working outside as well as people leaving Glastonbury and attending the start of Wimbledon and other outdoor events.
“Stay hydrated and try to keep out of the sun during the hottest part of the day.”
