Rail passengers face delays between Stourbridge and Birmingham due to emergency services incident
Rail passengers were left facing delays and disruption after an incident between two major stations on the Snow Hill Line caused the line to be blocked.
West Midlands Railway informed passengers of the incident on social media at around 5.43am, saying that no services would be able to operate between Stourbridge Junction and Birmingham Snow Hill until further notice.
The rail provider said that a special shuttle train service was operating between Worcester Foregate Street/Shrub Hill and Stourbridge Junction, as well as emergency road transport, while services into Birmingham Snow Hill from Dorridge and Leamington Spa would terminate and start there.
A spokesman for West Midlands Railway said at the time: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Stourbridge Junction and Birmingham Snow Hill, no trains are currently able to operate between Stourbridge Junction and Birmingham Snow Hill.
"At present, we do not have an ETA as to when the line will reopen.
"Services between Stourbridge Junction and Birmingham Snow Hill are unable to operate at present.
"A special shuttle train service will operate where possible between Worcester Foregate St/Shrub Hill and Stourbridge Junction, calling at all stations.
"Emergency road transport has been ordered to shuttle between Worcester stations and Stourbridge Junction in both directions until further notice.

"Stourbridge Town shuttle services are unaffected."
A later update at 7.16am said that the line was now reopened, and West Midlands Railway said it would now work to restore normal working, but residual delays and service alterations may continue until approximately 9am.
It's the second time in a few days that an incident has caused issues on the line between Stourbridge and Birmingham, with a train breaking down on the line on Monday.
