Train breaks down between Stourbridge and Birmingham - passengers warned of rail disruption
Rail passengers travelling on the Snow Hill line in the West Midlands were left facing delays as a train has broken down.
The train was reported to have broken down between Stourbridge Junction and Birmingham Snow Hill, leaving the line blocked until 4.39pm, when West Midlands Railway confirmed it had been cleared.
National Rail put out a message to warn passengers of services being cancelled or delayed by up to 50 minutes due to the line being blocked, with disruption predicted until around 4.30pm.
Passengers were also informed that their tickets would be useable on a number of National Express West Midlands bus services, as well as a number of rail services.
A spokesman for National Rail said: "A broken down train between Stourbridge Junction and Birmingham Snow Hill means that the line is blocked.
"Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 50 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 4.30pm.
