Eight major road closures in Sandwell and Walsall over the next fortnight that West Midlands drivers need to know about

Eight roads are closing in Sandwell and Walsall over the next fortnight, National Highways has announced.

Sandwell and Walsall motorists are being warned of disruptions and diversions as eight major roads are closed over the next fortnight. 

The closures will be in place to make way for National Highways and local authority networks works. 

In Sandwell, some of the road closures are expected to create delays of 10 to 30 minutes. 

However, in Walsall, the situation isn't quite as bad with delays of under 10 minutes being expected.

Walsall

  • M6, from 9pm June 23 to 6am June 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 11 to junction 9, Lane closure for maintenance works.

  •  M6, from 10pm June 26 to 6am June 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, jct 10 to jct 10A, Lane closures for maintenance works.

  • A5, from 9pm June 27 to 6am June 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A5 westbound, Hanney Hay to Rising Sun, Lane closure for maintenance works.

  • M6, from 9pm June 30 to 6am July 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 9 entry slip road, entry slip closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority networks.

Sandwell

  • A4123, from 9pm April 7 to 6am August 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 1 to junction 3, carriageway, entry and exit slip road closures for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority networks.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

  • M6, from 9pm June 23 to 6am June 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 1 to M6, junction 8, Lane closure for maintenance works.

  • M6, from 9pm June 25 to 6am June 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 both directions, junction 7 to junction 8, Lane closure for maintenance works.

  • M6, from 9pm June 30 to 6am July 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 9 entry slip road, entry slip closure for maintenance works, diversion via National Highways and local authority networks.
