Fire crews attend blaze on Brownhills industrial estate scrap yard as locals urged to 'keep windows closed'

The fire broke out at a scrapyard in the Coppice Side Industrial Estate in Brownhills as reidents were urged to 'keep windows closed' and to 'avoid the area, where possible'.

The West Midlands Fire Service was called on Wednesday evening (June 18) and sent four fire engines.

Members of the public were being urged to stay away while firefighters battled the blaze.

Video supplied to the Express & Star shows smoke pouring from the fire at its height.

The fire was understood to be under control by 9pm.
