However, for many of us (myself included) the day can be a little stressful as we try to scramble around to find something that our fathers would enjoy. Well, look no further.
We have made a list of nine brilliant places near to or around Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, and Birmingham, that our fathers are guaranteed to love - from zoos and safaris to chocolate and motorbikes - these events will surely make your father feel appreciated.
1) Black Country Living Museum's Festival of Vehicles, Dudley
Taking place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15, this event is perfect for the Father's Day weekend.
The museum will be shifting gears as they showcase dozens of vintage West Midlands-based vehicles, including those manufactured by groups such as Clyno, Guy, Sunbeam, and AJS.
The event also promises a chance to have a go on a vintage motor bus, where you and your father can also explore old motor shops and garages that were once found in the Black Country.
For more information and ticket prices, visit the Black Country Living Museum website.
2) Dudley zoo and castle

Dads can enter for free at Dudley Zoo and Castle this Father's Day.
The event features on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15, with fathers able to go free with their families to experience all the animals and history the zoo has to offer.
