Disruption for rail passengers after reports of points failure between Walsall and Wolverhampton
Rail passengers were warned to expect delays and diversions after reports of a points failure on a major line.
West Midlands Railway put out a message to let passengers know of the issue, which occurred at around 12.15pm on the line near Perry Barr Station and was affected services between Wolverhampton and Walsall.
It said that rail tickets were being accepted on National Express West Midlands bus services due to services being delayed or cancelled.
A spokesman for West Midlands Railway said: "There has been a points failure between Wolverhampton and Walsall.
"Due to the points failure, services may be delayed or cancelled.
"Ticket acceptance is in place with National Express West Midlands."
Any passengers experiencing a significant delay can make a compensation claim at the Delay Repay website.
