'We specialise in foot chases: Police release dramatic photo of Wolverhampton arrest as suspect is taken into custody

A man has been arrested following a 15-minute chase with police in Walsall and Wolverhampton.

West Midlands Police's Team One and Team Two worked together to pursue a Renault Clio for 15 minutes through the streets of Walsall and Wolverhampton

They posted about the incident on social media at around 8.35pm on Thursday, saying that despite trying to make off from officers, the man 'didn't have the ability' to escape on foot, and that 'we specialise in foot chases'.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Team 1 and 2 teamed up to pursue this Renault Clio for 15 minutes through Wolverhampton and Walsall.

"He didn't have the ability to evade our resident pursuit drivers and thought he'd fare better on foot. He's obviously not heard we specialise in foot chases."

Pictures show the man, who is wearing a black coat and black trousers, being taken down by police, who were in the process of placing handcuffs of him. 

Police added that the crime suspect had been taken into custody - but did not release details on offences.
