Aldridge 10K: Everything you need to know to run or watch the annual event
If you find yourself in Aldridge on June 8, expect to see hundreds of runners charging around the town centre – with some out to break a 14-year-long record.
Aldridge Running Club is getting ready for its annual 10km race, which sets off from outside the Aldridge Conservative and Unionist Club and goes all the way to Noddy Park Road.
Hundreds of runners are expected to turn up for the endurance event, with record runners, Robert Meredith, Mark Miles and Hayley Carruthers expected to take part again.
The event is hosted by the Aldridge Running Club, with all runners receiving a good bag, t-shirt, medal and a beer token for those over the age of 18.

So, to help you prepare to run or watch the race, here is all you need to know about the annual running event.
Key Times:
Registration for the adult 10k event will take place at 8am, before closing two hours later. The run is scheduled to start at 10.30am.
The last entry for the 400m children's race and one-mile run closes at 9am with the children beginning the 400m and one-mile run at 9.30am.
The Children's trophy presentation will take place at the completion of their race, while the 10k trophy presentation is scheduled at 11.45am.
Entry price:
Early bird entry price for the 10k event lasts until January 1st, with tickets starting at £22 for EA affiliates, and £24 for non-EA affiliates.
For new attendees, ticket prices are £30.20.
Children can take part in the kids 400m for £4.75, with the one-mile event costing £5.75.
10k Route:
The race sets off west from the social club, heading south on Walsall Road until turning left up Bosty Lane. It continues onto Barr Common Road until turning left onto Erdington Road at the Crematorium roundabout.
After a mile on Erdington Road, runners will turn left onto Portland Road, before cutting back to Little Aston Road, across Aldridge Croft. They continue east until turning left up Gould Firm Lane, just after Fairlawns Hotel and Spa, before another left down Hobs Hole Lane.
A mile later, racers turn left down Walsall Wood Road, before another left down Noddy Park Road will see them near the finish line.
Previous records:
Robert Meredith has held first place for the last two years, improving his time by one second between them, however, Mark Miles’ 2011 race, where he broke the 31-minute mark, has stood as the race record for over a decade.
The female record was won by Hayley Carruthers in 2019.
