Two Walsall bus routes diverted following one car collision

Buses have been diverted in Walsall following a one car collision.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of Aldridge Road, near Mellish Road and The Dilke, Walsall, at around 7.22am this morning to reports of a collision involving one car. 

On arrival West Midlands Ambulance Service crews discovered the vehicle that had been involved in the crash. 

One patient was discovered at the scene, a woman, who had received minor injuries as a result of the incident. 

She was assessed at the scene before being conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital. 

An ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a one car RTC on Aldridge Road in Walsall at 7.22am and sent an ambulance to the scene. 

"On arrival, crews found a woman who they assessed for minor injuries before conveying her to Walsall Manor Hospital."

National Express West Midlands warned of diversions to their regular line of travel following the incident, with two bus services being re-routed. 

The incident was first reported at 7.44am, with National Express West Midlands warning that services 6 and 7 will face diversions while the incident clears. 

On X, the transport group said: "Due to an incident on Mellish Road near The Dilke, Walsall.

"Services 6 & 7 are diverting to Sutton Coldfield ONLY via: Lichfield Road, Daw End Lane, Bosty Lane.

"Apologies for any disruption to your journey."
