Clean up of Walsall super fly-tipping hotspot to take place in New Year as council issues update

A fly-tipping hotspot is due to be cleaned up in the New Year as Walsall Council promises action

Dalkieth Street in the Birchills area of Walsall has long been a fly-tipping hotspot, with rubbish being spread across 20 meters of its narrow roads. 

In November of this year, the Express & Star visited the site, where residents described their dismay at the growing rubbish heap despite the council removing the waste daily. 

Now, Walsall Council have announced that they will perform a 'coordinated' was clean-up effort in the New Year, as well as take steps to hold those tipping waste accountable.

A spokesperson for Walsall Council said: "In recent weeks we took steps to require a local landlord to clear their own site, however, the notice was not satisfactorily adhered to.
