Five teenagers charged after two men stabbed in West Bromwich

Five teenagers have been charged following a disorder incident which left two men with stab injuries.

The teenagers have been charged after being arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery following a disorder incident on a West Bromwich Road.

The incident took place on Kesteven Road on Sunday and saw the two men receive stab wounds which were not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers from West Midlands Police subsequently arrested five teenagers,  three aged 16, a 17-year-old, and an 18-year-old, on suspicion of assault and robbery and then charged them for the same offences.

Odin Borthwick-Melia, 18, of Clifton Avenue in Walsall, appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court alongside the other teenagers, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on Tuesday. 

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We have charged five teens following disorder in Kesteven Road, West Bromwich, on Sunday (17 Nov).

"Two men received stab wounds which were not believed to be life-threatening.

"A short while later, we arrested five teenagers on suspicion of assault and robbery.

"The five teens - three aged 16, a 17-year-old, and an 18-year-old - have all been charged with assault and robbery.

"All five were remanded to appear at Walsall Magistrates court today."
