Wolverhampton to Birmingham Midland Metro line disrupted

Passengers faced disruption on the Midland Metro as damage to overhead lines meant the service was unable to get from Wolverhampton to Birmingham.

The service could only travel as far as West Bromwich Central for much of yesterday afternoon, with passengers wanting to get to Birmingham having to go by bus or train instead.

Tickets and passes were also accepted on London Midland trains and National Express buses.

The problems began at around 1pm when damage to overhead lines at The Hawthorns was reported.
