The supporter was also told to pay a total of £602 in fines and costs after admitting racially aggravated harassment.

Nathan Sprengel, aged 34, was charged after a complaint from on-loan striker Amari Morgan-Smith that he was abused by away fans during the first half of the game against Alfreton Town at the Harriers' Aggborough ground.

Sprengel, of Woodfield Road, South Normanton, Derbyshire, was fined £470 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £47 victim surcharge when he appeared before Chesterfield magistrates.

He was also given a Football Banning Order, preventing him from attending matches in the UK, for the next three years.

The charge arose from an incident at the Blue Square Bet Conference Premier game with Alfreton on February 23.

Wyre Forest District police Inspector Paul Crowley said the player concerned reported the incident to the referee during the match.

The football clubs were notified and West Mercia and Derbyshire police then launched an investigation.
