Woman dies in collision on A449

A young woman died when a car and van collided on the Kidderminster to Wolverhampton road today.

The accident happened at 5.45am on the A449 between Cookley and Caunsall.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Murray MacGregor said: "Sadly, it quickly became apparent there was nothing that could be done to save the woman in the car."
