A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after crashing into metal railings close to a Staffordshire superstore.
A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after crashing into metal railings close to a Staffordshire superstore.
The man, who is in his 20s, also suffered abdominal injuries.
The smash happened near Asda on the A34 in Stafford at 8.50pm yesterday.
Paramedics were called and an off-duty doctor was also present.
Suzie Fothergill, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "Crews were called to reports of a motorcyclist that had been in collision with metal railings.
"On arrival at the scene crew found the casualty on a nearby grass verge. The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was treated for a head and abdominal injuries."
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
