Crime in West Bromwich has fallen by almost 30 per cent compared to the same period last year, new figures from the police show.

Figures for April 2012 show that there have been 146 fewer victims of crime than the same period in 2011.
Burglary offences were down almost 60 per cent, while robberies in the town have decreased by a third.
The figures cover the month from April 1 to 30.
West Bromwich Inspector Akeel Najib said: "We have reduced total recorded crime in West Bromwich compared to this time last year by 27.6 per cent with 146 fewer victims of crime than this time last year.
"We have seen real reductions in robbery, down by 33 per cent. Considering in the past we have had an increase in robbery going into the summer months, we have had a massive decrease due to some of the work doing patrols in the town centre."
He added figures for burglary were also down by 58.5 pet cent against last year.
