Motorists in West Bromwich are set for more than three months of disruption as three major new road works schemes start.
South Staffordshire Water will carry out up to 14 weeks of work in West Bromwich High Street and Wood Lane beginning on January 3.
Drivers will have to contend with a road closure and a one-way system as workers replace old water pipes.
South Staffordshire Water said the work has been organised to fit in with a regeneration scheme.
Lodge Road will be closed while a repair programme of up to two weeks is carried out on West Bromwich High Street from the junction of Lodge Road to the junction of Sandwell Road.
A four-week project will then start immediately on the stretch of road covering the junctions of Temple Street to Carters Green. One way traffic will operate.
Letters have been sent out to all traders informing them of the planned works.
Workers will then move on to Wood Lane for a project of between six to eight weeks although full traffic management details are not yet available. South Staffordshire Water will move onto the area around West Bromwich Markets afterwards.
