A driver died when his car crashed into a tree after veering off a notorious stretch of road in Staffordshire that has claimed three lives in 18 months.
A driver died when his car crashed into a tree after veering off a notorious stretch of road in Staffordshire that has claimed three lives in 18 months.
The tragedy happened on the A518 between Haughton and Stafford yesterday and prompted more calls for the road to be made safer.
The dead man has not yet been named by police.
He was driving a Ford Focus towards Haughton and was about half a mile from the junction with Bradley Lane when it left the road at around 1.20pm. No other vehicles were involved.
An ambulance, rapid response vehicle, a senior paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene.
