Applications have flooded in from people wanting to work at the new jail when it opens in April. Positions on offer include prison officers, workshop instructors, office workers, managers and catering staff.
The jail is being built next to the current Featherstone Prison and Brinsford Young Offenders Institution. When completed it will house 1,620 inmates.
Nicola Savage, spokeswoman for G4S which will run the new prison, said: "The response so far has been fantastic.
"To date more than 2,000 people have applied for advertised positions, roughly five people for every vacancy."
