West Brom fans facing parking ban
West Bromwich Albion fans will be banned from parking on a major road near The Hawthorns under controversial £861,000 red route plans.
West Bromwich Albion fans will be banned from parking on a major road near The Hawthorns under controversial £861,000 red route plans.
Double red lines will ban cars stopping and parking on roads between junctions one and two of the M5, linking Oldbury and West Bromwich, under the proposals.
The move will include Kenrick Way, where supporters have crammed on to verges for years for Baggies games.
Council chiefs say they will create lay-bys for football fans there. Councillor Derek Rowley, the authority's cabinet member for neighbourhood services, said: "This is the final piece in Sandwell's red route plans. "The plans will improve transport links for anyone travelling in the triangle between the M5 and the M6 to attract business in the area."
