Up to 100 people and dozens of cars and motorbikes gathered at an unofficial car cruising rally in the Black Country.

The vehicles at the gathering in Wednesbury included many "souped-up" supercars such as Subaru Imprezas.

Drivers revved their engines and cruised up and down the road after meeting up at 7 o'clock last night. Although the Hallens Drive area is not residential, similar meetings have become a regular feature on Sunday nights in Charles Street, West Bromwich over the last 18 months.

This has prompted residents to describe living in the area as "hell".

The gatherings, in which drivers and car fans socialise and swap advice on their cars, are not illegal but police say they are keeping a close eye on the events.
