He saved for 14 years to achieve his lifetime ambition of owning a Rolls-Royce.
But the wait was well worth it for Black Country man John Cavill, whose beloved car has just scooped top prize at a prestigious rally.
Mr Cavill, of Bloxwich, Walsall, spends hours every week making sure his pride and joy, a midnight blue Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit 1988, is in tip-top condition. The retired builder searched for two years and looked at more than 22 cars until he finally found the motor of his dreams.
Now the 62-year-old's hard work and dedication has helped him scoop the top gong at the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club Annual Concours and Rally for the third time.
